Sail Through This to That has been 5 years in the making and, incredibly, debuts in just 18 days on May 28th. If you are in the Philadelphia area I hope you will join me for an incredibly special procession through Old City filled with choral and musical performances, poetry and the raising of a triptych of sails upon the Northwind Schooner in the Delaware River as part of ARTPhilly’s What Now? 2026 citywide art festival on the 250th anniversary of the city of Philadelphia.
The sails, interdisciplinary public procession and summer boat programming (more on this soon) on the Delaware have been a massive undertaking but it is my hope to show what is possible when we move into the expanded sphere of a city as a site of artmaking and performance.
